Yes, I think we all decided the panhandle beaches are our favorite. This trip may have spoiled my kids from wanting to go back to South Florida again.

Jamey - great story on Friday... thank you for your interest in AT&T's expansion plans, too. Let me know if you ever have any interest in doing another story on "how" this technology all works!

Have a great rest of your weekend.

I wonder what he was going to say??? And why not on camera?? So strange.

Anyway, good riddance to him. He showed his true colors. What a jerk!

Garth told of one of his very first concerts that was booked in Anniston. He couldn't remember the name of the place but I did at the time and he just lit up. It was one of those big showplace arenas (maybe that was actually the name).
"I was on the bus and I remember the announcer guy going 'Ladies and Gentlemen...GARTH BROOKS!!!'" He told me. "I don't remember how many people this place held, but I do remember there were 9 people inside. And we did two shows so there were fewer people for the second show."
Garth told me he and the band went on to perform for the small crowd like they would if it had been 9,000.
"A few years later" he remembered, (after he had become famous with a top-selling album), "I was opening for George Strait and before the show this state trooper walks up and hands me a dozen roses. And he handed me a card and in the card someone had written 'we are proud of you, from one of the Anniston 9'. I tried to run out and find them but there was no way."
And then Garth looked directly into my camera and said "So if anybody watching this was part of that show, I want to say thanks. I'll never forget you."
Garth got a little misty-eyed when he told me that story and because of that, I get a little misty-eyed just re-telling it.

Jamey, I loved your latest blog on Garth. For those unfamiliar, (and unable to find the info on the web) could you share with us "The Anniston Nine"

Thanks...
