Bug Bit

November 4, 2005 by jameyt

If it’s not one thing it’s another these days.

My primary camera was supposed to be back earlier this week from the repair shop in New Jersey. I still don’t have it. Fortunately a friend loaned me his Canon GL1 for the shoot tomorrow. I’m hoping my PD-150 will be back by tomorrow for the trip to Texas Monday morning. It’s still on a UPS truck somewhere between Illinois and Memphis.

My laptop is acting up now and so is the printer that prints my DVDs. I’ve fooled around with it for hours today and managed to get about 5 DVDs printed out of 25 for a project.

I had a good meeting tonight with a company wanting to produce a pilot for a tv show. They’ve got a great idea and I’ll be talking with them again. I’ll also be trying to find out what to do with the pilot once it’s finished.

It’s been a frustrating couple of weeks being self-employed. Lots of business coming in but getting these projects done has been a chore.

I will say something good about Circuit City. The backup mini-dv camera I bought a couple of weeks ago stopped working too Tuesday night. I saved about $100 by buying a open box/floor model. When I took it back yesterday I expected to either have to put it in the shop too or have to pay the difference on a new one. SURPRISE! Circuit City replaced the opened box camera with a brand new Sony. They even managed to get the tape out of the deck even though it wouldn’t power up. They handled it with some of the best customer service I’ve experienced in a while.

Tomorrow, I’ll be out with the horses again.

Oh, and the November book started today. I might watch some of the local coverage to see what we can expect for the next few weeks.
