Lots of work is now done, but there’s still lots more left to do.
We started early yesterday loading the PODS and picking up a trailer on loan from my church. The closing went smoothly, we were done in an hour.
We’ve made about a dozen trips with the trailer and probably have a couple more tomorrow before everything is cleaned out of the old place.
Tonight’s our first night sleeping in the new house. I was a little worried the kids might be a little scared sleeping in a new house for the first time. I remember when my mom and dad moved us into a new house when I was in the first grade. I was pretty nervous sleeping in a brand new place. In fact, and I don’t know that I’ve ever told anyone this before, I had first choice of which room I wanted. Instead of picking the biggest room, I chose the one closest to my mom and dad’s room. I was 7. Maybe my kids are just tired or maybe they’re more used to moving because they’re sound asleep.
There’s a few things we’ll have to get used to. My office is awesome but the desk sits a little lower than I’m accustomed. I’ve got long legs so either my knees bang into the desk or I have to lower my chair to the point my arms are raised to hit my keyboard.
We’re all exhausted. My friend Mike helped with the heavy stuff yesterday. They delivered our PODS to the new house this afternoon. Lowes delivered the new fridge today. Time Warner almost beat us to the house from the attorney’s office yesterday. I’m online now but the tv boxes don’t seem to be working. Funny thing, I can deal with no tv much better than I could deal with no internet access.
Tomorrow’s another moving day. I go have a meeting first thing in the morning about a new video which could go into production next month. The veteran who wants the Battle of the Bulge documentary called today and we’re going to get started on it soon.
Sorry for the all personal post today. Hopefully I’ll have something more interesting soon.
