I got a phone call yesterday about a video project that had to be shot and edited today and delivered tomorrow.
It is, thus far, my most interesting assignment. The woman who called is a hair dresser who watches Oprah. A week ago, Oprah had on her show a millionare bachelor looking for companionship. He’s asking for women of a certain age to submit videos so he can pick one to travel the world.
I told her I could do it, but I also have 4 other video projects this week and it would cost her a little extra to get it complete in such a short amount of time. “No problem” she said.
So this morning I shot my first contest audition tape. I’m going to edit it tonight and deliver the video tomorrow morning. With any luck her video will be shown on the Oprah show in a few weeks.
I can’t help wonder though why this millionare bachelor has to go on national tv and hold a contest to find a woman companion. I also wonder why any woman would enter a contest like this not knowing who she’s willing to run off with to see the world.
The woman I’m doing the video for hasn’t even seen the guy’s website or photo, but still she’s willing to pay for a professional video producer to help her win this contest.
Anyway, it was a shoot that was just as interesting as anything I would have been doing for a tv station.
After that shoot, I covered a “National Day of Prayer” event for the ACTS Network and finished editing and duplicating dvds for two other projects.
I was hoping by now that I would have turned this blog into a vblog or video blog, but I’m still waiting on the folks who manage the service I will be using to send me the information and software key.
