This is primarily for the family members we have scattered around the country. But you can watch it too. I’ve streamed only the last couple of minutes of this year’s family Christmas movie. This is only photographs set to music.
The rest of the movie debuted last night in our living room. I immediately took it back to the edit booth and changed some music and added some other videos and photos.
Anyone with kids should consider putting these things together. You can do it now fairly easily with a $49 editing program and a camcorder. When I first started these videos I had to sneak into an edit bay late at night or on a weekend at the tv station where I worked.
I had to convert the video from VHS to the format the station used, then edit and then convert it back to VHS. It’s a lot easier now.
Funny story. One of those times I had to use the tv station’s edit suite, I was in the control room at around 2 am putting the final video on VHS. The control room operator had apparently been watching a dirty movie on one of the satellites and forgot to switch it back. So after I made my dub and watched what I thought would be my family Christmas movie, I saw instead a man and woman going at it on a pool table.
The control room guy and I stood there speechless for a second until we figured out what happened. I said “good thing I checked it, can you imagine what my mom and dad would have said if I rolled this tape instead?” The tech said “what would your dad have said?”.
Knowing my dad he would have looked at me and asked “when did you get a pool table.”
