I just caught Kelsey Grammer’s Sketch Show on Fox. Loved it. Very funny sketches much like the old Rowan & Martin’s Laugh In program.
Of course I realize some of you reading this blogsquat (new title) weren’t around when Ruth Buzzie, Gary Owens, Flip Wilson, Sammy Davis Jr. and Dan Rowan and Dick Martin were making us laugh with “sockittomesockittomesockittome” and “The Flying Fickle Finger of Fate” and those bikini-clad girls with tattoos all over their body made us laugh in the late 60s and early 70s.
Kelsey Grammer’s show may not be on it’s way to “classic status” like Laugh In, but I found several of the sketches tonight laugh out loud funny.
Will I watch it next Sunday night? You bet your bippy.
Verrrrrry interesting….
I used to love Laugh-in, but it’s amazing how badly dated it is, thanks to its topicality. Haven’t seen The Sketch Show, because I sometimes watch Crossing Jordan, where you just don’t see enough Jill Hennessey these days. Rowr.
