Here I am, 11 months after losing my job as an anchor/reporter, a job and career I kept for 18 years, and a man in Wyoming gets an anchor gig by winning a contest.
Marvin Nolte competed in KTWO-TV’s “anchor for a day” contest and was then offered the full-time job.
Nolte, according to the Casper Star-Tribune has no experience. The contest called for contestants to write a 100-word essay on “why you would make a good news anchor” but that was too much work for Nolte. Then he heard they had an on-camera screen test. “Saturday morning, I decided, ‘why not? It sounds like fun. I can read” Nolte told the Star-Tribune.
Hope he does well.
My non-compete is up in a month. Anyone know of any other contests?
